BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Marsh & McLennan's Glaser to chair Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. President and CEO Daniel Glaser has been named chairman of the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance.

The committee was created in 2011 to provide advice to the Federal Insurance Office. Mr. Glaser was one of 21 members named late Friday to the panel, which will hold a meeting on Thursday. During the meeting, FACI members will discuss the committee's renewed charter, bylaws, topics of interest for the future attention of the Committee, the FIO's report on insurance modernization, and international developments.

The committee consists of insurance regulators, insurance industry executives, academics and others. “The committee members are recognized leaders and represent much of the vast diversity within the U.S. insurance sector,” said FIO Director Michael McRaith in a statement issued Friday. “We are excited to receive the benefit of their expertise and perspective on the many important issues in which Treasury's Federal Insurance Office is involved.”

“The committee is presented with a number of important domestic and international policy matters, and I look forward to working with Director McRaith and my fellow members to address these important issues on behalf of our industry and the public,” said Mr. Glaser.

Other property/casualty insurance representatives appointed to the committee Friday include David Herzog, executive vice president and chief financial officer of American International Group, Inc.; James Kelleher, executive vice president and chief legal officer of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.; Sean McGovern, chief risk officer & general counsel of Lloyd's of London; and Franklin Montross, chairman, president & CEO of General Re Corp.
