Nigeria: Insurance regulator resolves settlement disputes


Nigeria's National Insurance Commission has facilitated the resolving of 26 insurance disputes and this has resulted in payment of claims of more than 128 million Nigerian nairas ($789,760) to clients in the first six months of 2014, ThisDay Live reported.

Salami Rasaaq, assistant director in charge of corporate communications at the commission, said the Complaints Bureau received 83 fresh complaints from insurers.

Disputes settled during the period include two bond, two fire, two marine and one aviation insurance, among others.
