Thailand: PTT Global Chemical sued for $30.5 million over oil spill

A tourism association in Koh Samet, Thailand, is suing PTT Global Chemical Public Co. Ltd. for 1 billion Thai bahts ($30.5 million) for damages PTT's oil leak caused to the island, The Nation reported.

In July 2013, around 50,000 liters of oil leaked into the sea off Rayong province.

"The oil leak is a result of the firm's recklessness," Sujaree Jarernphon, vice president of the Mu Koh Samet Tourism Association, said.
