Brazil: Rising number of thefts on highways worries companies

Companies in Brazil are becoming increasingly concerned over the rising number of thefts on highways, reports

Ricardo Guirao from Aon P.L.C. in Brazil said companies are investing around 4% to 7% of their revenues for risk management. The situation has also resulted in an increasing demand for risk mitigation measures – including insurance – to tackle the problem. Regulator SUSEP said premiums from insurance for shippers and carriers totaled more than 2.5 billion Brazilian reals ($1 billion) in 2013, reported.
