Wrecked Vietnamese cargo vessel fined $33.1 million

Vietnamese cargo ship MV Viet Long, which ran aground near Summer Island Village resort in Kaafu atoll on May 31 2014, has been fined 508.6 million Maldivian rufiyaa ($33.1 million) by Maldives' Transport Authority, Haveeru reported.

The ship is expected to face more penalties for the oil that had spilled and the damages that were caused, reports Haveeru.
