Parts of Greece suffer power cuts as electricity workers strike

Parts of Greece have been experiencing power cuts after electricity workers embarked on a 48-hour strike to protest against privatization plans for a power generation company, Reuters reported.

An official at power distribution agency Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator S.A. said 13 power stations were taken off line. The grid operator had earlier declared a state of emergency.
