Australia: $7.9 billion spent in reconstructions after Queensland's natural disasters

Repairs and reconstruction works following the natural disasters that hit Queensland in 2011 and 2012 have cost $8.3 billion Australian ($7.9 billion), reported.

Queensland Community Recovery Minister David Crisafulli said damage caused by the floods and Cyclone Yasi in 2011 cost AUD 6.8 billion, while damage from floods in 2012 cost AUD 1.5 billion.
