BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Workers comp package signed into law for former Delphi Corp. workers

Reprints

A series of bills has been signed into law that will provide $42.4 million in workers compensation benefits to “several hundred former employees” of failed automotive parts manufacturer Delphi Corp.

H.B. 5489 and 12 related bills were signed into law by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder late last month, according to the Michigan legislature website. The bills will “provide a means to provide workers' compensation benefits” to 352 former Delphi workers, according to an analysis posted on the Michigan legislature's website. Comp benefits for those workers “reportedly have not been available since 2009 due to the bankruptcy of” Troy, Michigan-based Delphi, the analysis says.

Delphi Automotive P.L.C., which is based in the United Kingdom, was formed in 2011 after an investor group bought assets and subsidiaries of the former Delphi Corp. in 2009, according to the current company's financial statements.
