The Czech Republic's insurance market during the first quarter of 2014 "experienced a mild recovery from stagnation," Tomas Sikora, chief executive of the Czech Insurance Association, said.

Annual premiums rose by 1.3% to 30.6 billion Czech korunas ($1.53 billion), Xprimm reported.

The nonlife insurance segment recorded an overall growth of 1.7%, reflecting a 1.5% growth in sole trader insurance.
