Ukraine: Gross premiums collected by insurers up 35.6% in first quarter 2014

Gross insurance premiums collected by Ukrainian insurers during the first quarter of 2014 totaled 5.27 billion ($480.8 million), up 35.6% year on year, while net premiums fell 15.2% to UAH 4.33 billion ($395.1 million), reports Forinsurer.

Gross nonlife premiums totaled UAH 4.71 billion ($429.7 million).

The share of insurance premiums in the country's GDP was 1.7%, falling one percentage point from the corresponding year-ago period, reports Forinsurer.
