Delta Insurance New Zealand Ltd. has launched operations in New Zealand and the move could be a starting point against concentration in the industry, reports Stuff.co.nz.
Ian Pollard, managing director at Delta – a specialist liability underwriting agency – said two insurers control about three-quarters of the country's market and this concentration opens opportunities for new entrants.
Talks in the market indicate that more new players could enter the insurance market and potential business insurance entrants include Liberty Mutual Holding Co. Inc. and FM Global, Stuff.co.nz reports.
