Insurers in Uganda restructure operations

Ugandan insurers are restructuring their operations as they seek to gain from the economic growth and the demand for services, reports The Africa Report.

The Insurance Act of 2011 came into effect in December 2013, requiring insurers to divide their life and nonlife operations into separate companies.

Countries such as Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda are implementing similar reforms, reports The Africa Report.
