Canada's insurance industry has warned people against more frequent weather disasters, News 1130 reported.

Insurers made certain changes after the 2013 Alberta floods, such as higher premiums and changes to the extent of coverage, reports News 1130.

The industry believes that the federal government needs to work on a national flood insurance program.
