Libya: Protesters close airport used by oil firms in port city BregaReprints
Protesters in Libya's port city Brega have closed down an airport used by oil companies, Reuters reported.
The demonstration was against the appointment of Ali al-Ahrash as the Petroleum Facilities Guards' new head. While Mr. al-Ahrash said that only the small oil airport was closed, other sources revealed harbor operations had also been affected. The country's oil production has dropped to less than 300,000 barrels per day because of the several protests at oil ports and fields.
