Removal of Costa Concordia could pollute waters around Italian island of Giglio: Report

A new report prepared by Costa Crociere S.p.A. said removal of the MS Costa Concordia could pollute the waters around Italian island Giglio, where the vessel capsized in 2012, The Telegraph reported.

The report warned that waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea could be polluted as the vessel is refloated and towed away in July 2014, the newspaper reported.

Enrico Rossi, President of the Tuscany region, called for the government to "step in."
