New Zealand: Solving Christchurch's flooding problems could cost $100 million

The Christchurch City Council said solving Christchurch's flooding problems could cost up to $120 million New Zealand ($101 million), Radio New Zealand reported.

Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel said she hopes the government would agree to a request for interim accommodation assistance. Ms. Dalziel said "this is earthquake-related damage and so, therefore, it's really important that the government sees this as part of the total package of support that they're offering Christchurch at the moment in relation to the earthquakes," reports Radio New Zealand.
