Environmental degradation, climate change cost Pakistan $3.7 billion

Climate change and environmental degradation have cost Pakistan's economy 365 billion Pakistani rupees ($3.7 billion), the Pakistan Economic Survey 2013-14 revealed.

Environmental experts said the actual figure could be up to PKR 450 billion, The Express Tribune reported. The survey showed that urban air pollution caused PKR 65 billion in losses, while lead exposure cost PKR 45 billion.
