Philippines: Collided ships' owners yet to reveal insurers' names

Adelino Sitoy, Mayor of Cordova in the Philippines, has said that 2GO Travel and Philippine Span Asia Carrier Corp. – owners of the two ships that collided in August 2013 – have yet to disclose the names of insurers that covered the liabilities.

The collision resulted in an oil spill and caused considerable damage to Cordova, Manila Standard Today reports. Mr. Sitoy said damages were pegged at 127 million Philippine pesos ($3 million). 2GO has said liability for collision has yet to be determined and so compensation could be not paid.
