Conventional insurers in Pakistan can now underwrite takaful products once they are granted regulatory authorization to be a "window takaful operator," Business Recorder reported.

The firms have to ensure that they are Shariah compliant. Allowing firms to commence window takaful operations will help boost the number of takaful service providers in the country.
