BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Jack Snyder, a former A.M. Best Co. Inc. executive and now a managing director at Guy Carpenter & Co. L.L.C., will be working with some other former Best analysts who have also joined the reinsurance brokerage.

New York-based Guy Carpenter announced Thursday that Eric Simpson and Mark Murray will be joining its Guy Carpenter Strategic Advisory unit and reporting up to Mr. Snyder.

Most recently, Messrs. Simpson and Murray both worked at rival reinsurance brokerage JLT Towers Re, but both spent significant chunks of their careers at Oldwick, New Jersey-based Best, where Mr. Simpson was head of property/casualty rating and worked closely with Mr. Snyder, who was the rating agency’s chief ratings officer.

According to a Guy Carpenter statement, Mr. Simpson is a managing director of the firm and will be responsible for helping the its U.S. clients “address evolving rating agency requirements including Best’s stochastic-based BCAR model.”

Mr. Murray is a senior vice president of Guy Carpenter and will support its mutual company specialty practice, providing rating advice and analysis.

Welcoming them on board, Mr. Snyder said he and Mr. Simpson “have a long history of working together and it is exciting to have him on the Guy Carpenter team … In addition, Mark brings very broad knowledge and rating expertise with regional companies.”
