Zimbabwe's insurance industry set for boom: Regulator

Pupurai Togarepi, acting commissioner at Zimbabwe's Insurance and Pensions Commission, said the country's insurance market will witness a boom in the next three years, The Herald reported.

The entry of small and mid-sized insurers into the industry is expected to push up insurance penetration rate to 20% in the next three years, from the current 5%.

If the Micro-Insurance Bill is passed into law, activities of the small to mid-sized insurers will be further strengthened.
