China: Quake damages nine bridges, 9,688 housesReprints
A 5.6-magnitude earthquake that struck southwest China has damaged 9,688 houses, 36 schools and nine bridges, Xinhua reported.
Provincial authorities said at least 13 people suffered injuries. The epicenter of the quake was in Kachang Town in Yingjiang County, Yunnan province, which lies on a quake-prone belt, Xinhua reported. There was a power outage in the epicenter when the quake occurred, an official said.
