Global standard for insurance regulations needed: Japanese official

Naruki Mori, assistant commissioner for international affairs at Japan's Financial Services Agency, said a global standard for insurance regulations is required.

Mr. Mori said it also important that supervisors take steps to make sure that the rules are executed properly, Asia Insurance Review reported. He said any moves should be taken carefully "because we want to maintain the functionality of our insurers."
