Severe flooding in Balkans raises concerns over landmine danger

Record-high floods and landslides in the Balkans have sparked concerns that landmines from the Bosnian war could resurface, CNN reported.

The Red Cross said "there are reports that landmines buried during the conflict and not yet removed are in some instances being shifted with the landslides."

Elvir Camdzic, a presidential adviser, said property damage is estimated a $1.37 billion Mr. Camdzic said "when combined with the overall economic losses due to the flooding," the full scale of the damage will amount to billions of euros.
