Sabah and Sarawak will be badly affected by the El Nino phenomenon in June 2014, the Malaysian Meteorological Department said.
Based on their previous experience, a department spokesman said a strong El Nino could result in dry spells because of less rain clouds, The Sun Daily reported.
"The air temperature during that time will be slightly higher than normal as the heat from the sun will reach us directly without any filtration through the clouds," he said.
