BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Lloyd's of London has appointed a chief risk officer and has made appointments to its franchise board, the body responsible for the day-to-day management of the market, Lloyd's announced Monday.

Sean McGovern, who has been a director and general counsel for Lloyd's since 2002, recently took on overall responsibility for risk management at Lloyd's and has been appointed to the franchise board, Lloyd's said in a statement.

Fred Hu, an economist and investor who currently is chairman of Beijing-based investment firm Primavera Capital Group and who formerly was chairman of the greater China region for The Goldman Sachs Group Inc., among other things, has been appointed to the franchise board, Lloyd's said. He also will join the Council of Lloyd's, the body that supervises the Lloyd's market.

Joy Griffiths, currently global managing director of the decision analytics arm of London-based information company Experian P.L.C., and chair of Experian's Asia Pacific region, also has been appointed as a nonexecutive member of the franchise board, Lloyd's said.

Lloyd's Chairman John Nelson said he was delighted to announce the appointments of Mr. Hu and Ms. Griffiths. “They bring with them a wealth of financial services experience and extensive specialist international knowledge,” he said in the statement.

“I am equally pleased that Sean McGovern has taken on the role of chief risk officer and will be joining the franchise board,” he added.
