Oman: Insurers' combined gross premiums up in 2014 first quarterReprints
The Omani insurance sector has reported total gross premiums of 114.8 million Omani rials ($298.3 million) for the first quarter of 2014, up from OMR 105.2 million ($273.3 million) in the corresponding year-ago period, the Muscat Daily reported.
Property insurance premiums accounted for 15% of direct premiums, while motor insurance premiums made up 40%.
The top five performers included four Omani companies.
Dhofar Insurance Co. was the top player, with a share of more than 16% of the overall direct premiums.
