9:00 - 9:15 am | MORNING KEYOTE Where are the Women?
Speaker: Brian Duperreault, CEO, Hamilton Insurance Group Brian Duperreault, chief executive officer of Hamilton Insurance Group, the holding company of the Bermuda-based property and casualty reinsurer Hamilton Re, will provide an opening keynote address on the status of women in executive positions within the insurance industry. Only 1.3% of CEOs in finance and insurance are women, notes Mr. Duperreault, who will call on the men who occupy the seats of power to do something about it, and urge the women working in the industry to make themselves active participants in effecting change. Before joining the Hamilton Group, Mr. Duperreault was president and CEO of Marsh & McLennan Cos. until December 2012. Previously, he served as non-executive chairman of ACE Ltd. He also served as CEO of ACE from October 1994 through May 2004, and as its president from October 1994 through November 1999. Prior to joining ACE, Mr. Duperreault held various senior executive positions with American Insurance Group Inc. and its affiliates from 1978 to 1994. Mr. Duperreault also is a member of the Boards of the International Insurance Society, the IESE Business School, the Insurance Information Institute and the Metropolitan Opera, and serves as the lead director of Tyco's Board of Directors. He also serves as chairman of the Board of Overseers of the School of Risk Management, St. John's University, New York. Mr. Duperreault has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Saint Joseph's University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. |
