Brazil: Bus drivers' strike disrupts transport in Rio de Janeiro cityReprints
A strike by bus drivers has significantly disrupted transport in the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, affecting more than 2 million people, Yahoo News reported citing the Associated Press.
The striking drivers are seeking higher pay. They threw stones at buses, damaging more than 300 vehicles. The city has almost 9,000 buses and the strike prevented 70% of them from operating, a spokesman for a trade association representing the city's bus transportation firms said, reports Yahoo News.
