Canada: Calgary may see heavy flood damage despite faster response, says official

A top emergency official in Calgary, Canada, said a large flooding event will cause significant damage to the city, despite the improved, faster flood response, reports the Calgary Sun.

Tom Sampson, deputy chief of the Calgary Emergency Management Agency, acknowledged that the city's response measures have been improved.

But he added that heavy rains similar to the ones seen in June 2013 would still cause a lot of damage.
