Australia: Douglas Shire Council estimates cyclone Ita clean-up at over $18.5 million

The Douglas Shire Council has said the clean-up bill from the recent Tropical Cyclone Ita is estimated at more than $20 million Australian ($18.5 million).

The cyclone damaged roads and bridges in Upper Daintree and north of Daintree River, The Newsport reported. Mayor Julia Leu said the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements funding will cover nearly the entire bill.
