Nigeria: Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corp. indemnifies farmers in Lagos

Small-holder farmers in Lagos, Nigeria, whose rice farms were damaged after heavy drought in September 2013 have been compensated by the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corp., reports Nigerian newspaper Business Day.

NAIC recently settled the claims for crop losses on more than 120 hectares of rice field that were affected.

Meanwhile, NAIC's managing director Bode Opadokun has called on small scale farmers to take advantage of agriculture insurance policies to protect against risks.
