U.K.: Businesses hit by London Underground train workers' strike

A 48-hour strike by London Underground train workers that began on Apr. 28 2014 has significantly hit transport, leaving millions of commuters struggling to reach workplaces, Reuters reported.

The strike was initiated to protest against ticket office closures and job cuts and is likely to cost businesses several million pounds.

A previous two-day strike in February was estimated to have cost small businesses £600 million ($1 billion).

Meanwhile, a three-day strike has been planned for the coming week, reports Reuters.
