China: Nearly 60% of underground water polluted

China's land and resources ministry has revealed that almost 60% of the country's underground water is polluted, Chinese state media reported.

Water quality was measured across 203 cities, and results revealed that 44% of the spots monitored by the authorities had "relatively poor" underground water quality, while groundwater in another 16% was "very poor," The Guardian reported.
