Japan culls chickens to curb first bird flu since 2011

Japan will cull about 112,000 chickens to contain the spread of bird flu after two chickens tested positive for H5 virus at a poultry farm in Kumamoto prefecture, Reuters reported.

The Agricultural Ministry said more than 1,000 chickens died because of the flu. This is the first case of bird flu in Japan since 2011.
