BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Below-average 2014 Atlantic hurricane season predicted

This year's Atlantic basin hurricane activity should be below average, according to an analysis released by the Tropical Meteorology Project at Colorado State University.

The Colorado State team forecasts that nine named storms will form during the 2014 hurricane season, which begins June 1 and lasts through November, compared with an average 12 during the period 1981-2010. Three of those will grow to hurricane strength, as opposed to an average of 6.5, and only one of those will become a major hurricane packing winds of at least 111 mph, compared with an average of two during the 1981-2010 period.

“It appears quite likely that an El Niño of at least moderate strength will develop this summer and fall,” said the Tropical Meteorology Project on Thursday in its forecast. “In addition, the tropical Atlantic has anomalously cooled over the past few months.”
