Cyclone Ita could threaten north Australia by Friday

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology said Cyclone Ita could hit coastal communities in northern Australia by Friday, Reuters reported.

The cyclone could develop to a category 4, generating wind gusts up to 279 kilometers per hour, the weather forecaster said.

Cyclones usually form during the November to April period and often takes a toll on mining activities on the east and west coasts.
