A report by A.M. Best Co. Ltd. said New Zealand's insurers are looking into different aspects of their business, besides investments, for continued profitability due to low interest rates, Asia Insurance Review reported.

The insurers are focusing on improving underwriting profitability on newly written business.

Aggregate 2013 financial year results of leading nonlife insurers revealed that absolute net profits remained below 2010 levels.
