Thailand: Seven dead after World War II bomb explodes

Seven died and 19 others were injured when a World War II-era bomb exploded at a scrap metal warehouse in Bangkok as workers attempted to cut it open, the UK's Daily Mail reported.

Police chief Virasak Foythong said "the warehouse workers thought the bomb was no longer active so they used a metal cutter to cut into it, causing the explosion". The blast destroyed the shop, damaged nearby houses and started a fire, the newspaper said.
