Vero Insurance New Zealand Ltd. chief executive Gary Dransfield has told insurers "not to apologize" for the way they have dealt with Canterbury earthquake claims, a spokesman for Labour's Earthquake Commission said.

The spokesman said "this is frankly bizarre and insulting," Voxy reported.

The latest figures suggest insurers have completed only 15% of rebuilds and 10% of 'over cap' repairs in three years, the spokesman said.
