Magnitude-8.2 earthquake strikes northern ChileReprints
An 8.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the northern Chile coast, generating a tsunami and triggering small landslides, CNN reported.
Roads in some regions were damaged, while in others power and phone outages were reported.
Interior Minister Rodrigo Penailillo said three people were crushed to death.
Chile is part of the Pacific's Ring of Fire, an area where a large number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.
