Hub International buys brokers Argus Insurance, Cusson & Anderson

Hub International Ltd. on Wednesday announced the acquisition of insurance brokers Argus Insurance Inc. and Cusson & Anderson Financial Services.

Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed, Chicago-based Hub said in a statement Wednesday.

Hub International Northwest L.L.C. acquired the assets of Yakima, Wash.-based Argus, which will strategically expand Hub’s presence in eastern Washington, according to the statement.

All Argus shareholders, sales and service personnel will join the Hub Northwest team. Jeff Barrom, president of Argus, will join the Hub Northwest executive management team as executive vice president-central Washington, Hub said in the statement.

Argus offices in Yakima, Wash., Sunnyside, Wash., Moses Lake, Wash., and Ellensburg, Wash. will join Hub Northwest as satellite offices, according to the statement.

The operations of Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Cusson & Anderson will become part of Hub International Horizon. The Cusson & Anderson operations will move into Hub Horizon’s existing Winnipeg office, according to the statement.

Scott Anderson, vice president of retirement plans at Cusson & Anderson , will join Hub Horizon, Hub said.

Hub International is the world’s 10th-largest insurance broker, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
