India: storms halve key onion crop

The onion output of India's Western district of Nashik could drop by 50% because of recent hailstorms and rain, The Times of India reported.

Crop on 41,984 hectares of land suffered damage and "the quality of the remaining crop is poor," said Changdeo Holkar, director of the National Agriculture Co-operative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.
