China: Insurance premiums fall 50% in February 2014

Total insurance premiums recorded in China during February 2014 declined 50.26% month on month to 167.49 billion Chinese yuan ($27.25 billion) from CNY 336.74 billion ($55.56 billion) in January 2014, reports Hexun.com.

Property/casualty premiums fell 48.91% month on month in February.

Combined premiums in January and February reached CNY 504.23 billion ($82.04 million), with CNY 117.85 billion ($19.17 billion) coming from property/casualty premiums, a year-on-year increase of 18.82%.
