Nuclear security expert says 2,000 tons of nuclear material not adequately protected

A nuclear security expert said 2,000 tons of nuclear material spread around the world is not adequately protected, posing risk of nuclear catastrophe, The Jakarta Post reported.

Denis Flory, deputy director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said that in 2013, around 140 incidents of missing or unauthorized use of radioactive and nuclear material were reported to the agency, reports Reuters.
