Nigeria: Insurers call for activation of various marine insurance laws

Insurers in Nigeria are seeking activation of several marine insurance laws to enable them to provide cover for refined petroleum products imported into the country, Business Day reported.

Meanwhile, Nigerian Insurers' Association chairman Remi Olowude said the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority plans to establish "insurance fund for aviation passengers' liability" and the Nuclear Agency "wants to establish a fund for nuclear damage insurance."

Mr. Olowude said such risks are covered by conventional insurance policies across the globe.
