U.S. bans imports of drugs made by India’s Sun Pharma

The United States Food and Drug Administration imposed an import ban on drugs made by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. at its plant in Karkhadi, Gujarat state, Agence France-Presse reported.

A Sun spokeswoman said the ban was a follow-up action to a plant inspection in which "some non-compliance of current good manufacturing practice regulations were identified." Recently, Sun recalled 2,528 bottles of a generic diabetes medication sold in the United States after one bottle was found to contain drugs meant to treat epilepsy.
