Ship grounding off Greek island triggers spill concerns

Officials have said that Turkish cargo vessel Yusuf Cepnioglu, which recently ran aground near the Greek island of Mykonos, could cause an "environmental catastrophe," Hurriyet Daily News reports.

Officials are worried that strong waves and winds could cause cargo on the ship, which was carrying 200 tons of fuel, to be loosened and lead to a spill.

Efforts are underway to ensure that no leakage occurs.
