New Zealand: District council finds 78 buildings potentially prone to quakeReprints
A list released by the Horowhenua District Council showed that 78 buildings are potentially-earthquake prone, Stuff.co.nz reported.
The list includes several retail outlets and public buildings. The buildings meet less than 33% of the building code, according to an initial study. If further investigation reveals they are in fact not up to code, building owners would have to make improvements under legislation currently being debated in parliament.
