Some parts of Ireland record wettest winters in over 100 years: Met Eireann

The recent winter storms that hit Ireland set new records for rain and wind, with some parts of the country recording their wettest winters in over 100 years, Met Eireann said.

Around €70 million ($96.6 million) has been kept aside to take care of infrastructure damage, Irish Mirror reported.

Met Eireann recorded the highest waves on Feb. 12 2014, and that day's storm knocked out power supply of about a quarter of million homes and businesses.
